The Benjamin Foundation Resettlement Scheme

The Benjamin Foundation Resettlement Scheme began in 2000 to provide crisis intervention work to rough sleepers, homeless families and individuals in Norfolk. This client group struggles to find affordable accommodation under current housing legislation and many find their options limited due to being in the poverty trap.

The Scheme also delivers support to young care leavers. In partnership with the client's social worker, we provide advice, information and support, promoting the client's life choices and development of independent living skills.

The young people who have moved on from The Benjamin Foundation's supported accommodation centres have proven to need ongoing practical and emotional support. The scheme continues to provide this until the young person can sustain independent living.

There is currently a significant gap in service provision for core crisis intervention work. It’s this vulnerable client group that we strive to support by developing long term strategies and housing solutions for the future. As part of this work, we offer drop-in centres at the following locations:

Every Tuesday from 1pm to 4pm at Merchants Place, Church Street, Cromer.

Every Wednesday from 2pm to 5pm at the Carpenter's Arms, Market Street, North Walsham.

The Resettlement Scheme has a service level agreement with Norfolk Social Services to provide support to care leavers in North Norfolk, and works closely with many other organisations.
