In
North Walsham, The Benjamin Foundation manages the local Connexions
One Stop Shop in a unique partnership agreement with Connexions
Norfolk. The Benjamin Foundation's Rural Advice Project is also
based at the Connexions centre and both projects together offer
advice, help and guidance to all young people aged between 13 and
19 (up to 25 if a person has learning difficulties or disabilities).
Connexions
offers a holistic service to young people and deals with all the
problems that confront young people from homelessness to pregnancy,
from career choice to benefits. There are specialist advisers for
such things as homelessness and drug abuse, and young people are
signposted to other resources if they do not have the capability
to deal with their problem directly. Young people can access help
either on an appointment basis or a drop-in service is also available.
Personal
Advisers based at Connexions provide a presence at local secondary
schools where pupils can access them for any help or guidance they
require.
