Town-Tots Pre-School have recieved praise for their standards of quality and eduction from Ofsted in their latest report.
The report states: “Children are making good progress in their learning and development and are well provided for within the Early Years Foundation Stage. They are safe and secure and enjoy their time in this setting.”
Particular mention is made of the “very good” range of activities which contribute to children’s learning in all areas of the curriculum and help them gain skills to support their future learning. Praise is also given for the pre-school’s positive communication and relationships with parents as well as with other settings and the children themselves: “Parents' and children's views are sought with regard to the running of the pre-school and their comments are acted on to bring about changes, valuing the views of all users.”
Town Tots is located in the grounds of North Walsham Junior School and currently caters from around 34 children, between the ages of 3 and 5 years. There are 7 members of staff and children enjoy activities in two playrooms and a secure garden.
Play Work Manager, Teresa Turner, says she’s delighted with the Ofsted report, which reflects the hard work and dedication of all those involved in the pre-school: “The staff team do an amazing job in making this a secure, fun and caring setting for the children. We work closely with parents and also take the children’s own views into account wherever we can. The Benjamin Foundation charity itself has a very ‘family focused’ ethos and we try to reflect this in the pre-school, which we’re thrilled the report has picked up on.”
Teresa continues: “We recognise how important it is for parents to be able to access trusted, quality childcare at affordable rates so are really delighted to have received such great feedback from Ofsted.”
The Benjamin Foundation’s other services for children, young people and families range from youth clubs and community cafes to the hugely successful ‘Time for You’ programme offering one-to-one support for children in school settings and Parent Support Advisers who work with families experiencing a wide range of challenges. The charity also runs a county-wide programme of positive activities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
